These are my picks for the top 5 FREE iPhone Apps currently on my iPhone!

Check them out!

1 ► Oh, Ranger! ParkFinder – This FREE app is great if you are a camper.  I am planning a camping trip and this app helps you locate Federal and State parks that are close to you.  (You can also search by City or Zip Code.)  But what is really cool about is that it lets you locate the parks by the activities that you like to do.   From Horseback Riding to Bird Watching and everything in between, there are 20 different activities listed.  It was very helpful

2 ► GasBuddy – Find Cheap Gas Prices – Gas prices make NO SENSE to me!  The price jumps 50¢ one day, drops 15¢ the next, goes up a nickel …  you know!  But this FREE App helps me to find the lowest price gas that is the closest to me.  It actually saves you money!

3 ► Ibotta – this is a relatively new FREE App that lets you get money back for products that you buy at the grocery store.  In a round about way, it’s like digital coupons.  BUT, you can use coupons AND get money back on the featured product.  It’s fun.  It’s Easy.  It pays you FREE Money to shop!  Read more about Ibotta.

4 ► OpenTable – this is a FREE Restaurant reservation app that will located restaurants by your location or by city or zip code.  It also features reviews to help you choose a place to dine.  PLUS you earn points for each reservation.  These points are then turned into FREE gift certificates that can be used at ANY restaurant that uses Open Table.  I tell all of my friends that I will be glad to make dinner reservations so that I can get the points!  HA!

5 ► e-Rewards Mobile+ – earn points for taking surveys and completing short questionnaires.  Points can be redeemed for gift cards, magazines and, my favorite, FREE Airline Miles! (Anything to get me closer to a FREE Plane ticket to Hawaii, again!)

What are your favorite FREE Apps?  Let me know.

  • Thanks for sharing your favorite apps Tim! I haven't heard of any of these before, so I'll definitely have to check them out soon! A couple of my favorite apps include: DISH Anywhere, ChaseMobile, TripIt, Kayak and Waze. I tend to like the travel apps the most because of all the traveling I do for my job at DISH, but the first app I mentioned is my most used. That app lets me watch all of my shows from home, live or recorded, everywhere I go in the world! I love to use it as entertainment during flight delays and such, but as a TV junkie my favorite part is being able to keep up with my shows even when I'm stuck half way across the country on business! :)

  • Thanks Kaylah - I'll have to check these out. I also like the travel apps because I enjoy travelling. So any app that helps me with that and helps me save money is great.

Do you have to subscribe to DISH to access the DISH Anywhere app? I've seen the commercials recently and it looks pretty cool. I could actually watch movies on my iPad while I'm camping then.

  • You do actually have to subscribe to DISH to access the DISH Anywhere app. Dishanywhere.com is another great way to watch movies on the go though; it doesn't fully require a subscription to DISH for the website. :)
